In a recent post, Alberta Council on Aging asked the public about ways in which people can improve the quality of life for older adults. I would love to share a comment:
“Purpose! Ensure our aging population continues to have a purpose. Interest driven purpose. Doing things together and intergenerationally. Keeping their interests alive. Programs such as outdoor raised garden beds. Teaching youth how to plant and grow gardens. Sharing recipes and making meals together. Sharing the wealth of knowledge our older adults have by writing stories. Creating journals full of memories as a legacy for generations to come!” – Wyn B, age 52
