What is Elder Abuse?

Elder abuse is an intentional act or failure to act that causes or creates a risk of harm to an older adult. An older adult is someone age 55 or older. Common types of Elder Abuse include financial, emotional, physical, sexual, neglect, and medication. 

Alberta Council on Aging works to bring awareness to elder abuse through education, public presentations, and collaboration with other organizations.
