Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT)

The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) through the Dependent Adults Act, the Personal Directives Act and the Mental Health Act provides appropriate decision-making mechanisms for individuals who are unable to make personal non-financial decisions for themselves. 

Age-Friendly Communities Canada Hub

The Age-Friendly Communities Canada Hub is an initiative of the Canadian Association on Gerontology to bring together those interested in age-friendly communities in Canada. They are a resource center to promote age-friendly communities by encouraging the exchange of knowledge within age-friendly communities, connecting interested stakeholders, and promoting the generating of new research, practice and policy partnerships and initiatives.

Alberta Supports

The Alberta Supports is an eligibility estimator, a tool to help determine if you are potentially eligible for social-based assistance services. By answering a questionnaire, this service can help connect you to supportive assistance services, and estimate when these services will be available to you.

If you are an older adult who is experiencing abuse, or suspect that an older adult you know is being abuse, you can call the Senior Abuse Helpline. This supportive listening line, are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with highly trained and responsive listeners who provide support, referrals and crisis intervention.
